In early 2008 Eric Bergman joined a group of Glen Ellyn residents working to stop the Park District and Village Board from destroying over 340 mature trees at Ackerman Park in Glen Ellyn to make way for storm water retention and soccer fields. Through his leadership position in this successful grassroots effort, Eric witnessed poor communication with the public and great reluctance to engage with citizens when they came before the board.
Eric's vision for the DuPage Forest Preserve Board is three-fold:
- Good Stewardship
- Honesty
- Common Sense Government
Eric is running with Dennis Clark, Shannon Burns, and Hilary Denk for the DuPage Forest Preserve. Over the past several years Dennis, Shannon, Eric and Hilary have been involved with efforts to preserve and protect open spaces and natural areas in our communities. They have seen first-hand the poor leadership and questionable choices of our current elected officials. They are running to preserve our forests for the future and protect them from further bad choices.
Meet Eric
Eric Bergman has been a resident of Glen Ellyn for 19 years. He and his wife Julia Nephew have twin daughters born February 1st of this year. Eric's daughter Emily is a sophomore at Glenbard West.
